BV2 - Exampelsamling
Example Collection

BV2 is a calculation program that is advantageously used to analyze a building's energy use divided into heating, cooling, and electricity. The program is very suitable as an analysis tool when decisions are to be made, both regarding the building's design and the choice of climate control systems as well as detailed issues such as the choice of windows, lighting, or supply air temperature, in new construction or renovation.

The purpose of the example collection is to provide tips and ideas to BV2 users on how the program can be utilized in these situations. The example collection reports both how certain questions are solved and the effects on the energy use in a building for different alternatives. It is worth noting that the conditions given and the results reported only apply to the specific examples. Conditions regarding building, operation, and climate control systems can vary within a wide range for similar buildings.

The examples given in this document are only a fraction of all the possibilities that BV2 offers users to vary the building, the climate control system, and the operations in a building. However, the examples are chosen based on relatively common questions that clients, consultants, or energy advisors may face.

For each example, information is provided about which part of the program is affected, what input data are relevant, the calculation process, results, and any tips about the example.

This document does not replace the user manual for BV2 but should be seen as a complement when using the program. The user manual provides a background to the program's structure as well as information about the use and handling of BV2.
